How to Install HYP 2003 & Proxkey DSC Drivers in Windows (2026 Guide)
If you have recently purchased a Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) on an HYP 2003 or Proxkey USB token, you must install its specific hardware drivers before your computer can read the signature. Without the correct drivers, portals like GST, MCA, and Income Tax will fail to detect your DSC.
Step 1: Download the Correct Driver
First, identify which token you have (it is usually printed on the physical USB drive). Use the official links below to download the latest Windows drivers:
- HYP 2003: Download HYP 2003 Drivers
- Proxkey (WatchData): Download Proxkey Drivers
- mToken / CryptoID: Download from EmSigner
Step 2: Installing the HYP 2003 Driver
Follow these exact steps for the HYP 2003 token (the most common token in India):
- Remove the USB token from your computer if it is currently plugged in.
- Locate the downloaded driver file (usually named
HYP 2003-Setup.exe). - Right-click the file and select "Run as administrator".
- Click "Next" through the setup wizard. When asked for the CSP (Cryptographic Service Provider), select Private CSP.
- Complete the installation and click "Finish".
- Now, plug in your HYP 2003 USB token.
- Open the HYP 2003 Token Manager from your Start Menu and click "Login" to verify it reads your certificate.
Do you also need emSigner?
Just having the token driver isn't enough for most government websites. If you are filing on the GST Portal or MCA Portal, you must also install the emSigner utility, which runs locally on your PC and acts as a bridge between your browser and the USB token.
